Beware of what seems like a comment from a writer you correspond with often, or see around the medium space in many facets, giving you what seems like their phone number and an invitation to talk via a specific app, usually whatsapp.
They will invite you to join what they call the Medium Writer’s Community Union. Just one registration fee, they say.
You will receive an email from what they call the Medium Writer’s Community Union at a gmail address. To get access to the website, you need to now pay a subscription fee, and provide your full name, and a photo please. And what is your handle on the medium writer’s community.
They give you a list of actual writers on medium, and ask you to choose a mentor. And oh, before you have access to the website and being paid weekly, you need to go through the whole process of being mentored.
You hook up with who you think is this mentor on a texting app, and now have to pay a mentor fee, and then the mentor keeps asking for more money for the stories they ask you to write, for the “experience”. This is how they make their money, and how…
